Rice is a carbohydrate and digests easy, red gram is rich in protein, cumin seeds and black pepper assist the digestion. This is easy to prepare and babies like to eat too. This should be started with 1/2 scoop for 1 week and gradually increased up to 2 scoops depending on the baby's interest towards it (Testing with a very small quantity is absolutely essential when introducing new food for a baby).

Let the powder cool down to room temperature. Store it in an airtight container.
We can cook it in a 1-litre pressure cooker or directly. If cooking in pressure cooker, for every 1 scoop powder add 5-6 scoops of water in a small closed container. Add 1/2 bowl water to the pressure cooker and place the container inside the cooker. Close the pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles in medium flame (the whistle will time the cooking). We can also add grated carrot or grated ridge gourd or any vegetable to the rice powder before cooking. Feed the baby adding little clarified butter (ghee) and salt if necessary. Whatever fed to the baby should be tasted before feeding. If we feel it is tasty then the kid will definitely like to eat.
